Connections

A new album showcasing works by William Grant Still, Samuel Taylor-Coleridge, George Gershwin, and a special commission by Vincent Balse “jazz waltz for violin and piano”. This project, made possible through a Racial Justice Grant awarded by College of Arts and Architecture, aims to showcase the influence of black composers and the musical interconnection found in classical music.

Mack The Knife

Did you know that the famous ballad Mack The Knife was a last minute addition to Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera? Composed in 1928 and re-arranged by Max Zorin and Vincent Balse as a suite of five short pieces, this recording is personal take on Weill’s ambivalent genre fusing musical theatre and opera.
